November 2001/New York

November was a very difficult month for us with the passing away of Rajjina’s dad, Reggie. He was truly a giving man who devoted his life to his family and friends. It was fitting that in his passing, he brought together his extended family from all over the world for a celebration of his life. We will miss him dearly.

Upon his passing, Rajjina went back to the States, and Sareet and the boys followed soon after. We all participated in a very touching funeral ceremony at the Gudhwara. We stayed through Thanksgiving, Reggie’s favorite holiday, and the whole family had a very special week together.

On our way back to Taiwan, we transited in New York and saw the devastation of the Sept. 11 World Trade Center tragedy. It was quite an eerie sight.
