The Majumdars are finally leaving Taiwan. It has been a very hectic two months with all the goodbyes, packing out, and celebrating all the boys Summer birthdays.
In the midst of it all, Rajjina and Mimi accompanied Shaun to his school’s FOBISSEA sports competition in Penang, Malaysia. The competition combined individual events in swimming and track with team events in rounders (the original British precursor to baseball) and soccer. There were over 700 students participating, and it was brilliantly organized like a mini-Olympic games. Shaun medalled individually in the breaststroke and was part of the team swim relay and rounders medalling team. It was a wonderful week for all the kids and parents.
Back in Taiwan, the kids said their goodbyes to their friends by having 3 separate birthday parties and a final scout camp-out. We do hope to see many of the same faces in Shanghai over the next few years. Papi has signed on to help organize a Cross-Straights Sports Competition that will bring many of the boys and girls to Shanghai and Taipei for an annual sporting event.
Taiwan has been a wonderful, safe, friendly place for us. We will really miss all the friends we have made, and this island will always have a special place in our hearts. We look forward to moving onto Shanghai, but we will dearly miss Taiwan. We will especially miss Josie, who has been our loving and caring amah for 3 years. We hope many of you will be able to keep up with us through this website. Hope to see you in Shanghai soon. Also, for all of our friends and family in the US and India, we look forward to seeing you in China soon.
Keep in Touch,
The Majumdars
