The Majumdar clan cashed in on our free tickets to the Maldives, after being offloaded for two consecutive days during our August holidays in Sri Lanka. The Maldives is a country made up of a series of atolls (a Maldivian word originally) that are positioned due south of the Indian subcontinent in the middle of the Indian ocean. We spent a week on the island of Medufushi, living in a bungalow on the beach. Daily activities included scuba diving, snorkeling, beach soccer (see Ronaldo vs. Beckham) and eating great meals on the island of Medufushi.
The only way to reach the island was by seaplane. It was beautiful looking down at the islands set in the crystal blue ocean. Papi dove everyday and was fortunate enough to see and photograph a whale shark. Shaun got his first exposure to diving in the bubblemaker class. He is looking forward to Padi Junior certification next year.
We got back to Taiwan in time to take a 3 day company adventure trip in Hualien or the Taroku Gorge area. We all got to swim with the dolphins at Ocean Park. Rowan, Jay and Shaun especially liked the piggy-back rides on the dolphins in the tank (see video). It was fun for Mommy and Papi also. Now that Spring Break is over, the kids are back to school. We are slowing wrapping up our stay in Taiwan and will be moving to Shanghai soon. More details will follow.
Keep in Touch,
The Majumdars
