Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all our friends and family. We all spent the holidays in Goa, a former Portuguese colony on the West Coast of India. It is famous for its beautiful beaches, magnificent 16th century churches and it slow-paced, friendly atmosphere.
The kids were truly spoiled by both Grandmothers, and Santa managed to find us far away from home. We started a special Santa Hunt Christmas Tradition (see Sareet’s first edited Imovie video. You may need a bit of patience on the download, and you will need to download Quicktime, if you do not have it). We also visited the Basilica of Bom Jesus, which is where the remains of St. Francis are kept. Apparently, the body is supposed to be rather miraculously in tact without embalming, and every 10 years, visitors are allowed to see it. The next visitation is Christmas, 2004. We will probably be back here again then.
The highlight of the week was the wonderful fresh seafood meals at the beach shacks. Jay especially loved the spicy crab dishes. Rajjina and the kids stayed in Goa for New Years. Papi went back to Taiwan and took a 3 day trip to Thailand with some golf buddies. We look forward to celebrating yet another New Year’s (Chinese New Years) in January.
Keep in Touch,
The Majumdars
