It’s been a bittersweet Summer thus far. The kids have been celebrating birthdays, learning to play golf, going to soccer camp, fishing, playing Nintendo, and hanging out at the beach in Florida. Why is it that we give this all up for 40 years, so that we can aspire to do this again?

Jay celebrated his 7th birthday in Taiwan, and we stayed in Taipei through most of the SAR’s scare. It seems like a distant memory now. Preeti, Sareet’s second cousin graduated from Medical School. Congratulations! As school wound down, Rajjina and the kids went back to Florida for 6 weeks. Shaun and Jay went to Golf and Soccer camps, and Rowan went to Sports Camp also. Golf seems to have replaced tennis as their favorite individual sport. Papi is jealous, because Shaun and Jay already have better swings than him. The three of them capped off the kid’s golfing summer with a 36-hole day at a local Par 3 course. Ana and Tanya came down from New York to stay at Camp Rajjina, and we all enjoyed the water slides at Adventure Island. They will all see the cousins again in India in August.

On a very sad note, Sareet’s second cousin Sunjay passed away in July. He was friendly and supportive to all in the family and will be dearly missed by all of us. His passing brought together the entire family, as only he could.
