It was the first Summer since Rowan’s birth (1999) that we did not go on a family trip.   We had just settled back in the US and were happy to enjoy our Summer in Florida.   We celebrated Shaun’s 14th birthday at home and had a few friends visit, including Ed and his son Tommy, whom we hung out with when we lived in Taiwan.   Rob and Cindy, our friends from Shanghai, also visited to pick up their son Brett, after he and Shaun had enjoyed or endured (if you listen to them) a week of Chinese Camp in Minnesota.

Shaun and Brett went to a Chinese Camp located on a beautiful lake in Minnesota and had to speak Chinese only for the two weeks they were there.  They claim that it was not a lot of fun, except for the soccer.   However, for a couple of guys that supposedly did not have much fun, they sure did revel in reliving and talking about it for quite awhile.   We wound up the Summer by going to the Puma Cup in Sarasota, where Jay’s Club team won their first major soccer tournament. They have high expectations for the year, but win or lose, with 3 boys in Club Soccer, Mom and Papi will be chauffeurs for the remainder of the year, as we go to games across the state.

Keep in Touch,

The Majumdars
